Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she was recognized. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet back in 2012 after she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound along with her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. The track Sweat it is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to work with Rihanna. On December 8, that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. She released Pho, her debut EP, on Oct 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. On the 9th of November she dropped two more singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 13, she released two more singles called One and Pedigree. One as well as Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, and then released the song in a solo version to the album she released her debut. The music video premiered on 20 February 2019 to accompany the track. Within one period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. In December 2018 she was a supporting act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
